Thanksgiving Letter from Curtis

Dear Friends of Champlain Valley Apiaries,

As Thanksgiving arrives and we wrap up our Fall season, we want to extend our deepest gratitude for your support this past year. It has been a challenging season for beekeepers across the country. It was a tough winter and a frightening spring—when beekeepers nationwide reported some of the highest colony losses ever recorded—we felt those hardships right here in Vermont as well.

But with perseverance, careful stewardship, and a deep commitment to the bees we’ve cared for over four generations, we rebuilt our colonies stronger and more resilient than ever. We invested in new technologies that help us track and develop hardy Vermont bee genetics, focused on improving bee gut health and nutrition, and worked day after day alongside our bees.

Your support made that work possible. Every jar you brought home, every gift you shared, and every kind word you passed along helped sustain not only our family business but also the bees at the heart of everything we do.

From our family to yours, thank you for standing with us through a year that tested us all. We look forward to continuing to bring you pure, delicious honey—crafted with care, tradition, and deep respect for the bees that make it all possible.

Wishing you and your loved ones a warm, joyful Thanksgiving.

With gratitude,
Curtis W. Mraz
President & 4th Generation Beekeeper
Champlain Valley Apiaries
