Honey Butter
Interested in making your own homemade honey butter? This recipe is quick, adaptable, and soooo delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3–5 tablespoons Champlain Valley Apiaries raw honey
- 1/4 teaspoon flaky or fine sea salt
- Optional:
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- splash of vanilla extract
- tiny pinch of cayenne for heat
Instructions
- Let the butter soften at room temperature until easily spreadable.
- Beat the butter with a fork, whisk, or hand mixer until fluffy.
- Add the raw honey gradually, mixing as you go.
- Stir in salt and any optional flavorings.
- Taste and adjust:
- more honey for sweeter/spreadable
- more salt for balance
- Store in a jar or covered dish.
Storage
- Refrigerator: about 2 weeks
- Room temperature: a few days if your kitchen is cool and you’ll use it quickly
If refrigerated, let it sit out 10–15 minutes before serving.
Ways to Eat Honey Butter
Breakfast
- Toast, biscuits, English muffins
- Pancakes or waffles
- Cornbread
- Warm oatmeal stirred in at the end
Savory Uses
- Melt over roasted sweet potatoes
- Brush onto carrots or squash
- Finish grilled salmon or pork chops
