Gold Rush Honey Cocktail

Gold Rush Honey Cocktail

An oldie but a goodie, here's one of our favorite blog post recipes from last summer! The Gold Rush Cocktail still hits the spot and is worth a try!

✨One of our summer favorites, The Gold Rush is a refreshingly smooth, 3-ingredient cocktail that pairs perfectly with warm nights spent on the patio. Our honey's floral notes pair perfectly with any bourbon, while the lemon adds a splash of acidity to the sweetness, creating a perfectly balanced drink.

Here’s how the team at Champlain Valley Apiaries recommends crafting the cocktail:

🍋INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 oz Champlain Valley Apiaries honey

  • 2 oz bourbon (of your choice)
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice

✨INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1

Stir ½ oz. honey with ¼ oz. warm water in a measuring glass to loosen (or use honey simple syrup). Pour into a cocktail shaker and add 2 oz. bourbon and ¾ oz. fresh lemon juice.

STEP 2

Fill the shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds.

STEP 3

Strain the cocktail into a glass filled with ice.

This sweet and simple honey drink is perfect for long summer days, weekend brunch gatherings, and everything in between. Its refreshing nature also makes it a wonderful pre-dinner cocktail or a crowd-pleasing addition to your next summer party. Start by picking up some of our honey and giving it a try!
