DIY Honey Hand Balm

Winter is in full force up in Vermont and you know what that means: crackled, scaly hands and itchy skin. Luckily, Mother Nature has beautiful solutions for us! Try out our honey hand balm recipe, scented with your choice of essential oils. 

Ingredients

½ cup coconut oil
¼ cup almond oil
5 tbsp (or 2.5 oz) beeswax
1 tbsp shea butter
1½ tbsp Champlain Valley Apiaries Honey
10–20 drops of lavender essential oil (or your favorite)
8-ounce glass jar, or several small tins with lids (you can reuse the glass jars our 8 oz honey come in!)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients, except the honey and essential oils, into a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Heat in 30-second intervals for two minutes, or until all ingredients have melted.
  3. Mix in the honey and essential oils and immediately pour into the jar.
  4. Let cool to room temperature. To adjust the texture, melt the balm again and add either more beeswax or more essential oils!
