
Honey-Sweetened Chocolate Cupcakes
These decadent chocolate cupcakes sweetened with our honey are the perfect way to celebrate Valentine's Day with someone special. Honey makes for an awesome sugar alternative in baking, adding a little more depth to the flavor and a moister cake!
💘Ingredients
Makes: ~12 cupcakes
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Honey Chocolate Frosting (Quick Version)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/3 cup Champlain Valley Apiaries raw honey
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1-2 tbsp milk or cream
- Pinch of salt
💗Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in honey and sugar until smooth.
- Add milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the wet mixture and stir well.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined (don’t overmix).
- Divide the batter evenly into the cupcake liners (about 2/3 full).
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before frosting or serving.

**Optional quick frosting idea:
