Honey Thyme Lemonade Spritz
Whether you're gearing up for springtime or trying to cool down during the height of summer, there's nothing quite like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail!).
At Champlain Valley Apiaries, we find that summer fun has us reminiscing about the endless play, time off from school, and adventures with friends that the summer season brought. And to us, nothing feels quite like childhood like a cold glass of lemonade.
That's why we thought it would be fun to share an *elevated* recipe for lemonade, featuring our honey, a bit of thyme, and vodka or gin if you choose to include it.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz vodka (or gin)
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz Champlain Valley Honey simple syrup*
- 1–2 sprigs of fresh thyme
- Sparkling water
- Ice
- Lemon wheel or thyme sprig for garnish
Directions:
- In a shaker, muddle one sprig of thyme with the honey syrup and lemon juice.
- Add vodka (or gin) and ice. Shake well.
- Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice.
- Top with sparkling water and garnish with a lemon wheel or more thyme.
*To make honey simple syrup: Combine 1/2 cup Champlain Valley Honey with 1/2 cup warm water. Stir until fully blended and store in the fridge.
